The Inn at Stonecliffe Wedding- Couple Reconnects After 3 Decades Apart

This couple reconnected after being apart for nearly 30 years. They were married after finding their way back to one another at their Inn at Stonecliffe wedding.

From the photographer: Michelle and James’ love story has stood the test of time. Their understated and elegant elopement on Mackinac Island showed that it’s never too late to re-connect with the one you love!

Here is their story in their own words:

James and I grew up together in a small Kansas town.

We went our separate ways when I was 17 and he was 20. We married other people, had kids, and had no contact at all for 28 years.

We both ended up divorced and reconnected in 2016.

We decided that it was about time we got married!

Michelle and James had a simple ceremony in the Woodland Grotto at the Inn at Stonecliffe wedding venue…just the 2 of them.

The Woodland Grotto is a gorgeous garden tucked away in the forest a little walk from the historical Inn.

Michelle wore a beautiful ivory lace dress and James was in a suit and tie. She carried a bouquet of sunflowers that looked so pretty against the lace of her dress and all of the greenery of the natural surroundings.

After their intimate ceremony, Michelle and James walked up to a romantic stone overlook called Sunset Rock.

They ended their celebration with a classic horse-drawn carriage ride around Mackinac Island.
