Lace House Wedding

Chris and Gabby held a gorgeous, intimate ceremony and reception at the South Carolina Lace House wedding venue earlier this year. I’m excited to walk you through their images today!

Chris and Gabby had a collection of gorgeous details for me to photograph while they both separately prepared for their wedding day.

I loved incorporating Gabby’s grandmother’s rosary into their detail photos and custom-designed acrylic menus to give their flat lay images texture and visually interesting elements.

Gabby prepared for her wedding day with her mother and closest friends. She was ecstatic to receive a beautiful pair of diamond earrings from her groom as her wedding day gift!

Chris prepared for his wedding day with his groomsmen and wore the same anticipatory grin throughout each moment leading up to seeing Gabbie for the first time.

After both of them were ready to see each other, we arranged a first look for the couple in the same location where their ceremony would be held.

The custom-designed arbor by Melanie at By Invitation Only and florals from Carolina Blossoms perfectly complemented this stunning couple.

Prior to the ceremony, we explored the South Carolina Lace House grounds for portraits of them together. Some of these photos are now some of my very favorite couples’ portraits I have photographed to date! After portraits together, Chris and Gabbie prepared for their wedding ceremony within the gardens of the South Carolina Lace House

Their wedding planner, Melanie Murphy, did an exquisite job on designing and executing an intimate socially distanced event to keep the couple and their guests safe. The guests were provided with chilled drinks prior to the ceremony and each given custom fan to keep them cool in the South Carolina summer heat.

The couple shared an intimate and heartfelt ceremony with handwritten vows and sealed their promises with a kiss. Like most African-American couples, they chose to participate in the ceremony of jumping the broom to honor their history and ancestors.

After the wedding, we had fun with their wedding party photographing their wedding party portraits during that post-wedding bliss. We wrapped up photographing the couple on the stairs of the Lace House’s gorgeous front porch.

The couple and those closest to them drank by candlelight and enjoyed a three-course meal from Southern Way Catering amongst toasts from the brides’ father and the groom’s closest friend. The couple ended the evening with a few dances, a little fun, and sparkler exit to top it all off!

It was an incredible honor to be their Lace House wedding photographer, and I cannot wait to show off their gorgeous photos for years to come!
