Johanna and Andrew got married at the Inn at Stonecliffe in picturesque Mackinac Island, Michigan. The majority of the details about the wedding were unknown to the bride. She just wanted to pick out a dress and show up!
In the hands of the mother-of-the-bride and talented wedding planner, Carole Erbel, an elegant and personalized wedding came together. They sent the bride and groom an invitation to their own wedding!
The bride and groom are both farriers. This is one of the reasons they chose Mackinac Island for their wedding even though they live in Auburn, Alabama. The bride is also a hunter/jumper trainer and judge.
The Inn at Stonecliffe provided the perfect setting for their morning wedding and afternoon reception. The bride and groom wanted a fun evening on the town to celebrate!
Horseshoe details were incorporated into the wedding such as the heart-shaped horseshoe in the flower arrangements as well as heart-shaped horseshoe nails on the tables.
The white gladiolus that was incorporated into the floral arrangement on the arch for the ceremony was also significant. Both of the bride’s grandparents and her sister had white gladiolus on the altar at their weddings.
