Kavisha and Hamish eloped in Central Park in May 2019.
From the bride: “We are from both from big Indian families and were expected to have a big Indian wedding (300-400 guests) in either Sydney, where I am from or London, where Hamish is from and where we both live.
Either location would have meant that half the wedding party would need to travel across the world. So instead, we decided we would elope and chose a Central Park wedding as we viewed it as the halfway point between Sydney and London.”
The bride and groom didn’t have a particular theme, style or color palette for the day. They wanted to be outdoors in the sun and nature. They tied the knot in iconic park’s Cop Cot with three guests in attendance.
They personalized their elopement by adding a variety of personal touches.
From the bride: “Hamish and I originally bonded over The Simpsons, so Hamish surprised me with wearing the same cufflinks Homer Simpson wears in the episode titled ‘Lisa’s Wedding’ which Hamish received from his best friend. For the non-fans, the cufflinks are in the shape of large pigs wearing bridal outfits.”
The couple loves cocktails, especially Old Fashioneds, so they visited The Campbell after their wedding. They ended the day by enjoying a hot dog from Nathan’s Food Truck outside of the Plaza Hotel.
