A marine and a park ranger fell in love and wanted to celebrate their union with a boho desert wedding outside of Joshua Tree, CA.
Abby and Robert met in 29 Palms, CA. He was a marine on base there and she was visiting home from college, which she attended St. Lawrence in New York. Their whole love story was created long distance. After they met, he was deployed shortly after and she still attended college and maintained their relationship.
They have been together for about 4 years total and they got engaged in December 2019 at Angels Landing at Zion National Park. They were so excited to get married and wanted to do a big wedding with a fancy venue in the redwoods or somewhere in San Diego but decided to do a small boho desert wedding right outside of Joshua Tree because of COVID.
Their venue was at the White Water Preserve where Abby works as a Park Ranger. It’s not even an official wedding venue but her boss allowed her to have her wedding at the preserve. They had their reception in Abby’s desert backyard surrounded by gorgeous mountains and a few Joshua trees.
They said their vows on March, 20, but shortly after the wedding Robert moved to Virginia for work, and Abby will follow him out there in September. Her other vendors were local or new such as Pinyon Pine Floral Design, a brand new business looking to get their foot right in the door of the wedding business.
