A romantic Taft Point, Yosemite Valley wedding. This beautiful couple from Las Vegas Nevada met the photographer in Yosemite for a sunset elopement. Serene, quiet and incredibly romantic they welcomed the moon with their vows to forever.
Why we chose to elope:
We thought that the intimacy and simplicity of eloping was romantic. No guests, no decors, no huge spread of food — just us.
Why we chose a Yosemite Valley wedding: Yosemite is BREATHTAKINGLY BEAUTIFUL! We fell in love with Yosemite when we first visited back in 2015. We were in complete awe!
How did we meet?
I was a transfer student in junior high and used to take the school bus to and from school.
One day, as I was chatting with my friend, this random Asian kid popped his head up from the seat in front of us and introduced himself. His name was “Wong”, or so I thought. I found out much later that his name was actually “Guang.” Oops. I asked him if he ever noticed that I was calling him by the wrong name. And of course, he did. He just never bothered correcting me because apparently nobody gets his name right, anyway.
He pointed out that we actually get off on the same bus stop so we started walking home together. It’s funny, now that I think about it. We didn’t realize at the time that we would be walking home together for the rest of our lives.
We talked while we walked home. And the more we talked, the more I realized that he liked me — like, “like-like” me. He kept dropping hints about a “girl he liked.” Describing how she was a petite girl, pretty short, had no classes with him, AND rides the bus. And I was there thinking, “THAT’S ME!”
Later, I found out from my friend that he had a crush on me. So my suspicion has been confirmed! I was happy. I really like him too.
Our walks home became the highlight of my day. Eventually, he admitted that he liked me. Of course, your girl had to play hard-to-get. I told him he had to court me first (it’s a Filipino tradition and I was kind of old school).
I guess he did a pretty good job because now we’re married and I cannot imagine life without him.
