Sunny and Ben were married on September 5, 2020, on a gorgeous and unseasonably warm day, and held their reception at Weddings at The Broz.
Much like every other wedding in 2020, everyone was wondering how their day would be affected.
They and their loved ones were actually all from South Dakota but were married in Minnesota.
Dealing with restrictions differences between the two states, they were able to make it work. Not only did they make it work, they made it into an amazing day. No one at the wedding let the feelings of 2020 get them down.
When we first met with Sunny and Ben to discuss their day, they had actually just gotten off a cruise. We did not know this and they randomly brought it up.
We were amazed at their sheer dedication to meet with us. If I had just gotten off a cruise and airplane, the last thing I would do is go to a meeting. They were both so friendly and fun people that we were thrilled to be working with them.
There was a lot of driving from South Dakota to Minnesota for them to meet with vendors and do photos. While that all sounds like a lot, they didn’t let any of it bother them. They focused on how wonderful their day was going to be and enjoyed their planning.
On the day of, they were married at a church and then later did the reception at Weddings at the Broz. It was a very emotional group and there was so much crying, with an equal amount of laughter. We loved working with them.
Highlights of the day:
– THE SPEECHES. Wow. There was SO much crying during the speeches. Sunny’s dad had to keep telling the bridesmaids to stop crying so he could actually get through his speech. He actually had a voice recording of Sunny when she was nine years old, talking about her future wedding day. How cute is that???
– Sunny’s veil. Absolutely beautiful cathedral train veil. I had one as well and we were both of the same mindset that we would never recommend them to anyone, but they are gorgeous.
– The sky as the day turned into night was really cool. It was interesting because we didn’t really get to see a sunset, but the sky turned a bunch of different tones.
– Ben’s speech at the dinner literally had all of us crying. Probably the most heartfelt speech I have ever heard at a wedding.
