Tybee Island Wedding

Daysha and Josh’s first date was on the 4th of July and sparks definitely flew! It was the best first date they ever had.  They decided to have a Tybee Island wedding after seeing photos and loving the quaint, small beach town feel.

Eloping was the perfect fit for them as they are the type of people who don’t like the attention on them. Having a large wedding seemed like a terrible fit. An intimate ceremony where they could focus on each other was much more them.

From the bride: We didn’t really have an inspiration for our wedding day. We just went with concepts that seemed effortless to us! I would say our style for that day was a bit boho.

I knew I didn’t want the traditional bouquet at my wedding. Simply Eloped made the process of choosing a bouquet easy. They sent us many options and one stood out to me. It was a green leafy bouquet that had no colored flowers in it.

I wanted the focus to be on my dress rather than the bouquet. So picking a plain bouquet seemed right to me! I believe the florals played a big part in the style of my Tybee Island wedding.

Some of the favorite parts of my wedding would have to be the first look and getting our pictures taken by our photographer Karen. It was a very chilly day on the beach, but she made it fun nonetheless. She asked us questions during the pictures which really made our personalities show in the pictures.

I was curious to see Josh’s reaction to seeing my dress for the first time and he did not disappoint. When he saw me, he picked me up and hugged me. I love that we have that all captured and that Karen worked with us to make it happen!

I would say to other couples to really think about what they as a couple want and what makes sense for them. I grew up in a traditional small town where people usually get married with their friends and families at a local place.  I’m not going to lie, it did seem tempting at times to go that route but that really didn’t speak to us as a couple.

We had reservations about eloping just because we didn’t want to upset the people we care about by not being a part of our day. However, your wedding day is about how you two envision your day, and the people who care about you will stand beside that.
