Celestial Tulum Elopement

Design and Hosted by creatives UK based Butler & White and Mexico-based Maria Limon, this is an innovative Celestial Tulum Elopement. Influenced by the flow of the universe and the surrounding beauty of the natural planet, this shoot is celestial.

We headed beachside in Tulum, the home of boho beach weddings for this inspirational elopement shoot, and instead of embracing the usual Tulum Boho Vibes, we looked for inspiration in the Spiritual side of Tulum and created a new version of the favorite wedding trend Celestial.

Celestial symbolism is sprinkled delicately throughout the details. From the textured surfaces of the bespoke rings to the color variations in the textiles to the texture of the plates which remind us of the surface of the moon. This shoot is all about the flow of life and the magical energy that surrounds us on our beautiful planet.

Conscious choices were made for every detail. Natural dyes were used to color the table runners and napkins, recycled papers used for the paper suite, recycled glassware, and vintage glass were used alongside artisan ceramics and sculptural brassware.

As couples look to smaller weddings and elopements we wanted to create something inspiring with a sustainable message. If we are to begin travelling again we have to consider the impact our events has on the landscapes we visit.

Tulum is well known for his magical healing properties; details such as quartz crystals are added to the place settings. Layers of hand dyed cotton and silk had been naturally dyed and added to the tablescape by Butler & White.

A subtle reference to the sun and the moon is made throughout the styling, we particularly love the details of the rings by Rhodes. Look closely and you discover the intricate carvings into the precious metals.

The paper suite was created by artisan designer Aqua & Ink and the watercolor work on the raw handmade paper is full of magical flow and celestial impact.

The amazing boutique hotel, La Valise, was the backdrop for the ceremony and reception setting. The hotel is perfectly positioned on the beachside of Tulum making it a great option for an intimate wedding.

The focal point for the ceremony was a bespoke ceremony backdrop created by Event Technology. This magical backdrop inspired by the sun was outlined with neon & filled with dried florals by Maria Limon – it was a perfect backdrop against the stormy skies for a sunset ceremony.

Our bride wore a flowing nude silk dress custom-made by hand in London by Julita.
