Aloura and Alex’s wedding day was so unique and special! This breathtaking wedding is cozy, lively, and elegant while taking place right in the heart of Madison’s newest downtown venue, the Tinsmith wedding venue. Their inspiration was to make their wedding day homey. which is why it was so important for them to focus on hospitality and a sharing of a family meal on their special day.
The Tinsmith venue is a gorgeous newly remodeled industrial venue boasting the most beautiful Solarium with an abundance of tropical plants. High ceilings, the most amazing retro green and gold bar, and modern accents, it’s no wonder that The Tinsmith is absolutely booked every single weekend, Friday-Sunday.
We love how the couple added the 6 chandeliers with trailing greenery, while keeping their tables minimal (candles only) so that it would be easy to share a family-style meal among all the guests. Overall, this wedding was an absolute dream and we can’t wait to relive it over and over again.
Proposal Story: Alex proposed the day I moved back to the States from Shanghai in the home we now live in. It was also my first time in our house since we purchased it (we bought it while I was abroad still). My parents, his parents, and our dogs were all there to surprise me.
The planning process: Unlike most weddings that happened during 2020, this couple originally started off knowing they would have an intimate ceremony.
Expecting only 12 people, they planned to keep things small and cozy, but with Madison opening up and a year of not having many festivities, they decided to move their entire wedding to the Tinsmith.
They had the same 12 people (plus 2 dogs) in their ceremony and a much larger reception to celebrate! Best of both worlds.
There are so many fun details to look out for.
Aquamarine ring – her grandmothers ring.
The dress – she bought in Shanghai before she went home back to the States and before the proposal.
Vintage classic car drop off and bride/groom grand entrance!
Their dog laying on her dress during the ceremony.
Presented a small cake to her parents on their 33rd wedding anniversary (same day)/
The father/bride dance that turned into a skit that turned into a memorable way to open up the dance floor.
