Karpeles Museum Wedding

The midwest is often known for it’s rustic aesthetic, leaving most brides and grooms fleeing the area should they desire a more sophisticated, grand wedding. The Karpeles Museum allows couples to have a New York-styled wedding without leaving their hometown.

You’ll NEVER believe a Venue this Grand is in the Midwest! In the heart of downtown Rock Island is such a place, yet to be uncovered in the area.

Architect William C. Jones of Chicago designed the building in the Palladian style with neoclassical architecture characteristics throughout the building. The symmetry and clean lines pair well with a classic wedding.

I partnered with Rolling Hills Event Rentals & Hannah Arnold Design to plan a romantic, french inspired wedding.

Our talented florist, Hannah Arnold, of Hannah Arnold Designs, created two towering floral arrangements featuring roses, snapdragons, blue hydrangeas, blue delphinium, carnations, eucalyptus, and Italian Ruscus.

The vintage, porcelain quail added a unique touch to the tablescape; we appropriately named them the “lovebirds” and felt it was a detail not seen before.

And does anything say elegant quite like the touch of a classic car? Klemme Klassic Kars provided us with a rare 1949 Kaiser Virginian. One of less than one thousand made. It certainly was the creme de la creme of the entire shoot.

As for hair and make-up we wanted to highlight the bride’s natural beauty; effortless and minimal; maintaining her natural curls and keeping her make up light without contouring.

We hope to give inspiration to couples who long for romance in the midwest without escaping to the big city, keeping true to themselves and their love for each other.
