Oh Paula and Stephen, a slow-burn romance that resulted in this gorgeous, fall wedding at The Driftless Wedding Venue in Dubuque, IA.
From the rich, autumnal oranges of the bouquet to their charming pup Archie, this wedding was one for the books.
I first photographed the McDermott’s for an engagement session and they are the perfect example of being the ying to a yang.
Paula is the loveable extrovert full of laughter and Stephan is the sophisticated introvert with a passion for whiskey.
The get it done midwest work ethic of these two was so evident on this day.
Every detail was magical. From the florals artistically placed throughout The Driftless wedding venue to the perfectly delicious dessert table with layers upon layers of frosting.
Basically it was a photographer’s dream.
No wonder these two just tackled their first full-fledged remodel on a fixer-upper.
The designer gene is present in this family!
The personalities that Paula and Stephen pulled together for their wedding day brought just the right balance of sappy speeches and killer dance moves.
Nothing beats quality time with family for the McDermott’s.
Whether it be cuddling a puppy for sweet photos or dancing the night away with nieces and nephews, this is a family bond that can not be broken. Group hug!
