From the bride on her Romantic and Rustic Virginia Fall Wedding: Kyle and I met through my brother in law who has been married to my sister for 3 years and they dated for six or so years prior to that. We knew of each other and had interacted in larger groups but never anything romantic because we were never both looking at the same time. Kyle also had a rule in his head that he wouldn’t date anyone younger than his sister.
We didn’t want to cause problems with my sister and brother in law either if it was just a fling gone wrong and then they had to be in the middle or pick sides. Kyle and my brother in law’s parents are also best friends and Kyle’s family lives five minutes from mine so truly a small world.
Dating: My sister likes to play match maker and so she is kinda to thank for our relationship. She did lots of little things but one that really got the ball rolling was she friended Kyle on Snapchat on my phone without me knowing.
So that night when I was at a concert and his request to follow back popped up, we just ended up messaging all night and then all the next day. We finally smartened up and exchanged phone numbers.
Proposal: He proposed on the first of November. He was freaking out about the weather that weekend all week and I couldn’t get my head around why. The cover story was we were going to Harpers ferry brewery for his dad’s birthday. It’s a beautiful location and he said he wanted to get some photos and asked there.
My whole family then came out of their hiding spots and the two families (plus my brother in law’s family) celebrated there with the gorgeous day.
