Pennie and Mitch’s Australian wedding took place in January 2019. From the bride: “We wanted it to be a casual day and be more about sharing a special day with friends and family than formalities. We chose not to have a bridal party, first dance (that’s just not us) or father-daughter dance (my Dad would have killed me if I made him dance), no formal seating or meals, just casual eats and drinks at the pub.”
Their Australian wedding was at a local art gallery. It became their venue at the last minute due to various issues with other venues. From the bride: “We didn’t have much luck with our wedding planning, and it all ended up being planned in the last two weeks due to venue changes. I wanted confetti for our ceremony and couldn’t get any locally, so I used confetti from a drag queen photoshoot I had leftover in my studio.” Regardless of last-minute planning and changes, their special day turned out to be beautiful. The couple’s vision for their wedding cake was deep greens and gold. Their favors for guests were succulents in antique glass jars. Pennie did all of the favors, invitations, centerpieces, and some decorations herself.
