Oge and Oseme were married at a dreamy Mexico destination wedding. They first met in 2009 on Oge’s first day of school at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Canada. The couple was married traditionally in Anambra State, Nigeria in April 2019, three months after getting engaged. They chose to have their white wedding 11 months after in March 2020.
When asked what was unique about their Mexico destination wedding, the bride said: “We had an intimate wedding of 60 guests, yes 60, and we are both Nigerians. It felt like a big family celebration. We had time to spend with everyone over a couple of days we were at the resort. It felt like a friends-and-family vacation. Everyone felt free enough to really dance and socialize at the wedding. We also had no bridal party.”
The couple didn’t meet their wedding planner in person before the big day but appreciated how smooth everything came together. FTK~Konnect Events pulled design inspiration from the bride’s Pinterest board that she shared with them. They used religious elements and wanted to incorporate the bride’s favorite colors, forest green, gold, and cream. She was also inspired by a tropical theme. Their venue, Hotel Mousai in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, was a perfect fit!
