From the bride: Our vision for our Oak Hill Farm wedding is romantic modern with a touch of rustic. The only thing I ever was certain on was I wanted a lot of candles.
We wanted to be true to us and who we are as a couple; hints of hip hop and lots of moments to dance.
I personally handmade all the bouquets out of raw wood sola flowers and oak leaves to tie in being married in front of the oak tree.
We choose to not have a florist so the tables were set with tons of eucalyptus and more raw wood sola flowers.
The music was the center stage for the reception. We worked closely with our DJ to make sure our rap/hip hop, everyone on the dance floor vibe would start from the moment we entered the pavilion.
We also decided instead of a small table in the corner for our loving memory table we decided to place the photos at a normal wedding table that was fully decorated and set with chairs. Each picture was placed in front of a chair.
The coolest thing was people would go to the bar and get their loved ones favorite drink and set it next to their picture. It was a great way to honor our loved ones and made it feel like they were truly part of the day.
The one thing we both knew was an absolute must was getting married in front of an oak tree.
Ryan’s dad passed away 4 years ago and his family has a poem called Oakstrong that has become a way to remember his dad and his spirit.
We found Oak Hill Farm after some extensive online searching.
Little did we know that when we walked the grounds for our tour we would be told the story of the church that is on the property and come up to the gate that stands in front of the church to see the name “St. John’s Church”.
John is Ryan’s dads name and it was in that moment we knew this is the place we were going to get married.
