Modern Revival Hotel Wedding

These two have their style on point! They are super fun and wanted to have an intimate, Revival Hotel wedding.

Their nighttime ceremony took place in the rooftop garden room followed by a karaoke party!

From the bride: Ryan and I met in law school in Washington, D.C., and were just friends all three years.

Neither of us knew that the other had a crush on the other.

Ryan moved a thousand miles away to Kansas City, MO, and I finally sent him a text that read, “Is now a good time to tell you I had a mega crush on you through school and still do?”

He responded that he felt the same, and got on a plane to Baltimore a few weeks later for our first date.

I knew he was the one when my very aloof cat, Cleo, took to him immediately. To this day, Ryan is definitely her favorite.

It was kind of a whirlwind after that.

We said our first “I love yous” and talked about getting married on our second date.

Just a few months after that, we were driving a U-Haul from Missouri to Baltimore to move Ryan into my apartment. We announced we were engaged shortly after.

The line “I guess when you know you know” was said a lot by surprised friends and family, but everyone supported us.

Just four months after getting officially engaged, and almost exactly a year from the night of our first date, we were married in the Garden Room at our Hotel Revival wedding in Mt. Vernon.

I know that everyone says this, but they say it for a reason: our wedding day was the best day of our lives.

It was an intimate wedding of 45 people who loved us enough to travel from literally every corner of the country to be with us on our day.

When we think about our wedding day, especially during a global pandemic, I of course love reminiscing about the music, the food, flowers, and my dresses.

More than anything, I mostly remember the people that surrounded us as we said our vows and screamed/sang pop-punk style in the karaoke rooms with us into the late night.

A few weeks after our wedding, the country went on lockdown, and I am so happy we have these memories of all of our favorite people together in one place.”
