MiKayla & Brandon’s Hollywood theatre wedding embraced the historic ambiance of The Landmark Theatre in Syracuse, New York.
From the bride:Our inspiration behind our day was definitely an old Hollywood glam feel. The Landmark Theatre where we had the ceremony and reception was once a movie theatre and one of our biggest connections is through film so we had to incorporate that into the day. Even with mini specialty popcorn bags as one of our favors. Our color palette was spring neutrals (black, cream, champagne) so we didn’t clash with all of the opulence of the theatre which was rich in golds and reds. For religious traditions we thought it would be a nice touch to have each of our godmothers read some bible verses on love and wisdom during our ceremony.
From the photographer: MiKayla and Brandon hosted an Old Hollywood themed celebration on the stage of Syracuse’s historic Landmark Theatre. The renovated 1928 theater is grand and ornate, with rich reds and golds amid detailed murals. The couple’s inspiration came from Hollywood icons as far back as the 1920’s. Black and white pictures of stars like Clark Gable, James Cagney, Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe were set atop the tables along with tall vases of white hydrangeas. Popcorn in little boxes were handed out as treats for the guests, along with white macaroons and cupcakes. The theater was a perfect setting for a party, with great acoustics and a nonstop dance floor. Right before the fast dancing started, the bride changed into a rose gold flapper’s style dress!
