Alexia & Joseph’s Miami wedding was just magical and truly, truly represented who they are as a couple. We started this planning process with a 300 person wedding at a local Temple and within 3 months of planning, we changed venues (4) times, revised guest lists, and eventually found a solution that really spoke to who exactly Alexia & Joseph are:
We decided to have the ultimate backyard wedding at Alexia’s parent’s house. This came as no easy task: we all spent months working as electricians to ensure we wouldn’t blow a fuse the day of the wedding, tweaked the layout to ensure we could fit all their guests, revised the menu to accommodate a backyard wedding and the week before the wedding flipped the ceremony space from the backyard to the driveway. They handled all the changes with such ease and were so flexible and willing to find any solution to make the day work!
Petal Production killed the florals and created the most amazing chuppah for their big day! Alexia really wanted a lot of colors and wanted this to be the statement piece of her wedding which I think it certainly was! The florals on the reception tables were bright and fun, exactly how the couple pictured it!
From the bride: We had a backyard wedding, and to us, our chuppah was the most important part of our wedding. We had bright flowers and used the colors from our chuppah to bring color to our centerpieces for our tables during the reception.
We utilized every space in my parent’s backyard. We covered the pool with an acrylic dance floor that was clear, then we had string lights go across the yard and added lighting to our backyard trees. We also had a fire pit on our dock to give people extra seating options.
My parents have a cabana that we turned into a walk-in photo booth that everyone loved. We really did put all our trust in our wedding planner and florist to make executive decisions on what they felt would flow best.
Our first look was the most anticipated moment on our Miami wedding day just because you’re so excited to see each other for the first but our most special moment was when we signed our ketubah.
It’s a moment even before the ceremony where it’s the first time that as husband and wife you take a moment to sit down together and to read this marriage certificate that speaks about the commitment you are making to one another and it was very emotional.
Advice to other brides: I would say that before looking at venues and choosing a wedding planner understand as a couple what your style is and what type of wedding you would like to have. It will help save you time looking at venues and help your wedding planner understand your taste.
Having Pinterest boards can help provide inspiration to your wedding vendors of what your style is and many of our vendors appreciated having a clear vision of what we wanted for our space.
