Mary & Andy’s outdoor estate wedding called for perfect fall weather at the beautiful Inns of Aurora in New York.
A rustic wooden sign with a garland of greenery welcomed guests to the outdoor estate wedding ceremony. Guests were seated in white resin chairs and had a lakeside view during the nuptials. After the ceremony, guests moved under the tent for the reception. With the ceilings of the tent draped and a chandelier, the area was transformed to have a ballroom feel. Wooden farm tables were set with an ivory runner and alternating bright floral centerpieces and candles. Table numbers were written in gold calligraphy on wooden squares.
How they met: Andy and Mary grew up just 10 miles apart in small towns but didn’t meet until mutual friends brought them together in college over 200 miles from home, almost 8 years ago. They were celebrating Halloween weekend at Penn State (Mary was dressed in a home-made Gary the Snail outfit). Although they had a nearly instant attraction to each other, a dispute over tequila left them with a sour taste in their mouths (no, not limes). Despite getting off on the wrong foot, it was quickly clear to them that they actually shared a lot in common. Mary and Andy bonded over their mutual love for the outdoors, music, and sarcasm. They spent the second half of college nearly inseparable, drinking cheap beer, eating bad food, and listening to good music.
