As an editor at Real Simple, Laura’s wedding to John in New York City was bound for creativity. With the “city that never sleeps” as inspiration, possibilities are endless. Even though the venue was indoors, the floor-to-ceiling windows created a waterfront feel.
From the skyline on the invitations to the stunning ceremony backdrop of the Hudson River, wedding guests were in a New York state of mind. At the ceremony, a “floating ring” Chuppah created a nest for the couple. After the ceremony, guests could find their “big apple” with seating assignments. Even when the sun went down, uplighting brought the hue of the water back to the party.
From the photographer: Laura and John were married on a beautiful October Saturday. We were just blocks from the High Line Park so naturally I shot Laura & John’s couple portraits up there and then returned to meet their wedding party and family groups for the rest of the formals inside since there were fairly strong winds by the Hudson River. Not only were the details incredible, but there was so much love in the air all day long. From their first look through the toasts to the parent dances, the atmosphere was rich with sweet emotions.
