Lafayette Grande Ballroom Wedding

Kristin and Stefan were married on their 6 year dating anniversary at their beautiful Lafayette Grande Ballroom wedding in downtown Pontiac. A historic building with one of the prettiest (but slowest, lol) elevators. And we can’t forget the secret entrance to the rooftop for sunset photos.

Stefan and Kristin met in college at Grand Valley State University. As you can guess, things worked out well between them.

Currently living in Ohio, I was extremely excited to hear they would be getting married near their hometowns. There is something so special about keeping your wedding centered on who you really are, and not just on the pressures of making it “picture perfect”. That said – it sure did come out pretty picture-perfect-worthy, if you ask me!

Kristin and Stefan’s wedding took place on September 28th, 2019 at the Lafayette Grande Ballroom wedding venue in downtown Pontiac, Michigan. A place with so much character, this historic building did not need much decoration from these two in order to make it beautiful.

Light touches of eucalyptus and gold accents for their ceremony, followed by more greenery and gold branch-like décor on the reception tables, accompanied by gold votive candle holders. Needless to say, it all looked fantastic.

I so loved getting to know these two before their wedding day. Between coffee dates and their engagement photos in Grand Rapids, MI, I felt that we all built a solid connection before the big day rolled around.

Throughout building our relationship with each other, I enjoyed realizing we had similar senses of humor and easy communication. Kristin and Stefan explained to me that they really just wanted a big ole’ party to celebrate their marriage, and there is no denying this was accomplished.

I could not be more honored that these two chose me to capture their wedding day. From start to finish, the day was filled with an abundance of easy-going love and a whole lot of fun and booze.

We wrapped up their photos with sunset pictures on the rooftop of their venue (drool-worthy) and let the party roll out after that. If I could share all the wild and insane dancing photos I got – well, let’s just say that would be a whole album on its own, ha!

While looking at these photos, really allow yourself to really feel the energy emitting not only from the bride and groom, but their whole party, friends, and family. And get ready to have a desire to throw the best party of your life from all this inspiration!
