This Lady Luck Flower Farm wedding day encompassed everything good about summertime in the mountains of North Carolina.
The morning started slowly, at the cabin on the hill, Baylee was the most relaxed and happy bride to be. Every now and then she would peek outside the window as if she were expecting someone, then smile to herself and go back to sipping a drink, laughing with her sister and mother or swaying to the old tunes playing.
The attention to meaningful details in the Grateful Dead lyrics inscribed on the inside of their rings and the delicate earrings handmade by Semplice Designs was breathtaking. Every detail and accessory so important and special to the bride and groom.
Once Baylee put her beautiful, bohemian dress on, we instantly wanted to document the moment so we went outside to wander in the alcove behind the cabin. She was barefoot and avoiding bees in the clover, rain sat heavily on the edge of the breeze blowing from the valley below. I watched my bride dance around the lawn, graceful and elegant.
She was a glowing vision walking down to the ceremony to meet her groom. Will and everyone else anxiously awaited her arrival. Effortless, elegant and ever so graceful, she met her groom with tears of happiness in his eyes and pure joy on her face.
The crowd breathed a collective sigh of adoration when they met one another in front of us and in a blur of emotion, heartwarming sentiment and celebration, Baylee and Will committed their lives to one another.
The afternoon evolved into evening. The warm air left us again and we narrowly missed a few summer showers. The clouds moved in for the evening to usher in a night of good music and dancing.
We slipped away for a few portraits amongst the blooming flower fields at dusk. Will shared a celebratory sip of Johnnie Walker with his bride; an Avera family tradition paying homage to Will’s late father that Baylee gets to now take part in.
Enthusiastically in love, head over heels for one another, obsessed. Baylee and Will couldn’t quit gazing at one another, interlacing fingers, small touches and slight kisses. The true picture of a newlywed couple eager for all the joys and excitement of marriage. It was an honor to be a witness, to document the day and to gain these two as lifelong friends.
