Kathryn & Stephen’s nautical summer wedding started with a traditional Catholic ceremony then moved to Longwood Events for the reception.
Two floral arrangements flocked the altar at the church for this nautical summer wedding. Bridesmaids wore the same blush pink but had different styles of gowns for this nautical summer wedding. Seating assignments were written on a mirror that was displayed during cocktail hour.
From the bride: Our wedding was perfect! Our color palette was blush pink, white, and a bit of gold. We did not really stick to a specific theme but because our wedding was in Newport, RI we tried to bring some nautical aspects to the wedding. We are both Catholic so we did have our ceremony in a church in Newport. Our priest is actually a family friend that has married generations of couples from our family so that was special. One of the most special moments for us were our first dances. My father and I won a father daughter dance in 8th grade to the twist so we had to somehow incorporate that into our dance together. We started off with a slow dance to “My Wish” by the Rascal Flatts and then broke into a twist which people loved! Our first dance was to “Smile” by Uncle Kracker which was a very special song to us because my husband always used to say the song reminded him of me because I had the best smile!
