Katherine and Jason’s elegant celebration was one to remember.
Jason and Katherine met in the summer of 2014 through the Sunday school they attended. In regards to their special day, the bride says: “I love fall and the changing of seasons. I’ve never really been a fan of the summer in Texas, and have always loved the crisp cool air of the changing of the seasons.
I am fairly traditional in my style but knew I wanted a deep burgundy color for my bridesmaids as that characteristically looks good on most people.
For the guys, we knew Jason would want a navy suit for the guys, and all in all, that worked out great.
A little different than a black tux, but we loved it. For our day, our ceremony was traditional, but it was important for me to include our faith.
I asked our officiant, a good friend of mine, to include a little bit about our faith in the ceremony, and he did the most phenomenal job.
I remember so much of the message for being such a big moment of our lives, and I’m so happy. The ceremony message was something that I will remember forever, and will be one of my most favorite parts of our day.”
The decor of their elegant celebration was all thanks to the venue.
“The ceremony and reception – all of it was a Houston Oaks, and the event venue is so beautiful that it essentially dresses itself.
I wanted most everything to be simple decor. Nothing over the top. Some of the decor was DIY.
I did all of the frames and photos for our wedding, and had small 2×3 and 3×3 photos across some of the tables of our engagement photos.
We also had a specialty wine – Katherine Goldschmidt 2017.
The label is amazing and the side profile of the girl on the label looks like me, so my fiancé definitely wanted it there.
That’s a special thing between us as he found the wine over a year ago and got me a bottle for Christmas one year.
We used those bottles to dress up the head table and served to our guests at the wedding as well. It was a fun special touch for us!”
