Held at a nursery in Somerset, Virginia, Kara & Ryan’s garden-inspired wedding was filled with romantic flowers.
From the photographer: Kara and Ryan shared the most beautiful garden-inspired wedding day surrounded by the sweetest families and friends. These two were actually the maid of honor and groomsman in one of my earlier 2018 weddings, and I knew from the moment I met them that their day would be nothing short of perfect! They spent a lot of time planning the most beautiful details.
From the bride: I’ve always thought of gardens as one of the most naturally romantic settings and therefore drew a lot of inspiration from that. I wanted to keep our wedding classic and elegant while softening it with romantic touches and thought a nursery that doubles as a wedding venue was perfect. I wanted to keep the color palette with that same theme and so I decided to go with a smoky slate blue, dusty mauve, and light grey with gold accents. I wanted to keep it neutral, but not boring. The Market at Grelen is sprawling with beautiful flowers and greenery and so I wanted to compliment this by having an arbor adorned with greenery and white garden roses for the ceremony. As with all my florals for the day, I wanted a more unstructured look, as if it had been growing in the nursery naturally.
