John & Lydia’s Hackney Warehouse Wedding

John and Lydia had a beautiful September wedding at the Hackney Warehouse in Murphy, North Carolina. John is a firefighter/paramedic and Lydia is the venue manager and event coordinator at the very place they got married.

The details were carefully thought through. The centerpieces were taken from Lydia’s grandparents’ antique room. John was able to get his style in there by displaying his turnout gear in the reception and having a fire truck getaway car.

From the bride: “As a wedding coordinator and venue manager, I see a lot of weddings and different decor. I wanted colors I had never seen and something elaborate that wasn’t just the run of the mill wedding. I chose mustard and rust as my color palette with hints of champagne and olive green. The style was “bohemian chic.”

John made the arbor, bar, and seating chart display.

From the bride: “I wanted the decor and the entire day to tell a story and involve family. Most everything was DIY by me and my matron of Honor. I made flower wreaths from silk flowers and grapevine wreaths to hang from the ceiling over the round tables. The banquet tables had handmade wooden boxes by my grandfather over them with greenery and flowers. The centerpieces were antique Clorox bottles from my grandparent’s antique room. Pampas grass is a favorite of mine, and I have the best bridesmaids for asking people if they could cut their pampas out of their neighbors yards for my wedding.”
