Jessica & Shehan’s whimsical barn wedding took place at William Allen Farm in Pownal last summer.
The groom’s boutonniere for this whimsical barn wedding was a yellow flower with silver thistle. A wooden sign welcomed guests to the ceremony. White draping and festoon lighting added a romantic touch to this whimsical barn wedding reception.
From the photographer: I spent the day with Jessica & Shehan as they became Mr. & Mrs. at the lovely William Allen Farm. It was the most perfect day from the weather to all the details. When we arrived, Jessica was in the final stages of getting her hair and make-up done and hanging with all of her closest girlfriends. Shehan and the boys arrived shortly after looking very sharp in their matching suits and spent some time before the ceremony hanging out in the loft of the barn. Once Jessica put on her dress with the help of her sister, she took one final glance in the mirror and headed out to the front lawn to meet Shehan for their first look. It was sweet and very cute when Shehan asked her if he could touch her. This happens a lot as the Grooms to be are so smitten, they don’t know what to do at that moment. The ceremony was held out on the backside of the property overlooking the pond. They incorporated one of my favorite books into it by Dr. Seuss, Oh, the Places You’ll Go! There was laughter and happy tears shed as they exchanged vows and sealed it with a kiss.
