Francesca and Bennett’s lemon-themed wedding was stunning.
The inspiration was “A Summer Evening in Italy, sera d’estate in Italia.”
From the bride: “My father and his family are originally from Italy, right outside of Rome.
As a first-generation child, and the oldest of three kids, we loved Sunday evenings at the grandparents, the aroma of amazing food being freshly cooked, and stories of their upbringing!
When we had the opportunity a few years ago for a family trip to Italy, my now husband, also joined us too! We fell even more in love with the culture, the style, and the pure simplicity of Italy!
We took our Italian inspiration and ran with it!
Our color palette, simplified was; champagne golds and blacks with pops of lemons.
I have always loved the color black, its an absolute classic and timeless color, in which a lot of brides may not use this in their wedding inspo, me on the other hand, I wanted it everywhere!
As our wedding was at night time, my bridesmaids were in long simple black dresses, while our groomsmen were in stylish black tuxes.”
In terms of decor for their lemon-themed wedding, the bride says: “For starters, one of our main goals for choosing Bella Collina was for natural beauty.
Bella Collina is 15 minutes from our home and truly a taste of Italy in the hills of Monteverde.
I knew I wanted simplicity and did not want an overwhelming amount of decor and I call it “fru fru” decor.
Nothing unnecessary or anything that would take away from the natural beauty.
With that, our vendors were absolutely amazing.
With very simple accents of the champagne gold (i.e. tables clothes, candlesticks/ holders, glass and champagne charges, etc.), black taper candles, garland greenery, and pops of lemons around the entire venue.
The biggest factor for us was the “pops of lemon.”
I did not want yellow to be a theme color, but the real lemons to be an accent of the “sera d’estate in Italia.”
They did just that!! It is amazing how many people questioned my “black and lemon” theme.
But I didn’t mind, I rolled with it, was very clear on my vision with our vendors, and let it all come together!”
