Real Weddings: Renu & Navin
The three-day destination affair that was Renu and Navin’s wedding was a stunning display of color, culture, and character. From the French-garden-party welcome dinner to the traditional Indian sangeet on day two, to the nuptials in the ruins of a medieval castle behind a countryside château, the couple’s love for all things Parisian was perfectly intertwined with elements of a traditional Indian wedding.
Lauren Sozmen of New York- and Paris-based Loli Events was a part of crafting the French-fusion event. “Because we had three days to work with, we could really capture all the concepts that the bride loved,” Sozmen says. The celebration was both glam and cozy, making it that much more intimate and special. And to top off the magnificent three days, the event concluded with a surprise fireworks display courtesy of the bride’s father. “We made everyone go outside,” Sozmen says, “and the sky just lit up over the ruins.”
