Lauren and Brandon were married at their Elmwood Bed & Breakfast wedding in front of friends, family, and some very curious Alpacas in the fall of 2019.
The Elmwood Bed & Breakfast is a hidden paradise.
Nestled roughly 90 minutes from the hustle and bustle of Baltimore, MD, this quaint two-story farmhouse is host to any bride and groom looking for some peace and quiet.
In Lauren and Brandon’s case, that is exactly what they needed.
Long before their wedding day, Lauren and Brandon were colleagues, and slowly but surely they built up a workplace romance that had the whole office buzzing.
From sharing lunch breaks to after-work coffee dates they were lovers from the word “Go”.
I remember during our first meeting Lauren told me she knew she was going to marry Brandon after only a few weeks of dating, it was “for sure the real thing”.
Unfortunately, they did have a fair share of tragedy along the way.
When they first starting dating Lauren’s mother, Vonnie, was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer.
For some couples, this immense amount of stress could tear them apart, but in this case, it only made them grow closer.
Where some men would run in the face of adversity Brandon stood up with the family and rallied to help Vonnie the best he could.
He would give her her daily medications, read to her, or just sit and talk while Lauren was working or ran errands.
When the family was running on fumes he was there to help every step of the way.
Call it a mothers instinct but after only dating for two months Vonnie knew it was meant to be.
With her health quickly declining, she asked Lauren if they could go wedding dress shopping.
She knew she wouldn’t be around for it when the big day actually came, but she still wanted to share that moment with her daughter.
In March of the following year, Vonnie lost her battle with cancer. But her instincts were very right.
Only 4 months later Brandon got down on one knee and asked Lauren to marry him.
Laurens mom unfortunately passed away several months prior due to brain cancer.
Fortunately, they were able to pick out Lauren’s dress together but she passed shortly after that. The entire wedding was beautiful and full of love.
While Vonnie was not there physically she was there in spirit in everything from the dress her and Lauren picked out months earlier, to the jewelry Lauren wore throughout the day.
Throughout every trial and tribulation, these two not only survived but they came out stronger than before.
Surrounded by friends, family, and a few friendly Alpacas Lauren and Brandon tied the knot at their Elmwood Bed & Breakfast wedding in October of the same year.
