With help from family and friends, Elisabeth & Max pulled off a beautiful DIY rustic ranch wedding in Cle Elum, Washington.
The ambiance from the property helped lay the backdrop for this DIY rustic ranch wedding. The bride’s mother led a small army of people that created a bounty of food and transported it 140 miles the morning of the wedding in lieu of hiring a caterer. The groom’s aunt provided a full set of wedding flowers including bouquets, boutonnieres, centerpieces and a decorated alter. On the morning of the wedding, the bride’s brother-in-law and other friends scaled the rafters of the barn and strung clear lights that were gorgeous at night. The bride’s sister played guitar at the reception. All day, friends and family were working to get the barn, the ceremony space, everything ready for the wedding.
From the photographer: Elisabeth and Max hoped for a rustic wedding, and found a venue they were very excited about – a big, beautiful wedding venue located on The Ranch at Swauk Creek. It features a picturesque field for an outside ceremony, and a beautifully remodeled main barn, ‘the Cattle Barn’, now a gorgeous rustic event center. However, Elisabeth and Max live in Kennewick, Washington, and the venue they loved was 143 miles to the northwest in Cle Elum, Washington. For Elisabeth and Max to pull this off, they need SO much help from their family, friends and community. And, no-one’s budget allowed for hotels. So, they need to create everything in Kennewick, and drive ALL to Cle Elum on the morning of the wedding. They worked on the wedding all summer, and it came together on their wedding day.
