The tale of Dylan and Caitlin is one for the books. Dylan, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, and Caitlin, an EMT for a fire department, light up any room when they walk in. Their wedding was at Dream Point Ranch in Bixby Oklahoma full of beautiful countryside and a fresh breeze. The large white barn was filled with elegant black and white decor with full tapestries, neon lettering, and smiling family and friends.
From the bride: The inspiration behind our fall wedding was the word moody. I knew I wanted a classy wedding with everything being centered around the colors white and black. It just so happened to be a cloudy day which made for the perfect backdrop from anywhere inside or outside the venue.
Our florals were a mix of greenery and white flowers all from Whitney Virden at Roots+blooms. She hand-painted a few of the flowers black as well.
The whole wedding was my favorite! We played the shoe game and were almost the same on all of our answers without knowing the questions so that was fun entertainment! We also had a cocktail hour set up for everyone outside with food, drinks, and heaters while the wedding party took photos.
The most anticipated part was reading our wedding vows and not doing a first look. We both knew we wanted to read our letter and vows separate and then our first moment seeing each other would be walking down the aisle. It was the best part of the whole wedding watching his reaction as I came down the aisle!!!!
Advice to future brides: Hire a wedding coordinator!! The month leading up to the wedding is by far the most stressful. I was very much the person that was super chill about everything and not stressed. Then the month of everything had to be done and without our day of coordinator Whitney Hewitt, I do not know what we would have done.
She had everything in its place. Handled any situation that came up the day of and had everything broken down post-wedding so we did not have to lift a finger. Highly recommend hiring her even if you think you can do it on your own, she will not disappoint!
