Disco-Inspired Wedding in Arkansas

Check out Dylan and Kaylie’s energetic and colorful disco-inspired wedding at the Venue at Oakdale in Little Rock, Arkansas. This wedding was one of the ones I was most looking forward to shooting in 2022.

I made a strong connection with Kaylie and Dylan during their engagement session at Crystal Bridges Museum in Bentonville, Arkansas, and had a clear vision of how I wanted the images to come out in the planning sessions we had before the wedding day. It came out exactly as I wanted, full of life and color.

From the bride: Dylan and I absolutely LOVE dancing together. Funny backstory, before we met, I was so nervous to dance in front of people. Always trying to “play it cool” and keep embarrassment at bay.. Dylan grew up around music with his dad being in a band, he and his family danced often and were at concerts throughout his childhood.

So Dylan introduced me to a new perspective about dancing.. I used to think “I can’t dance, I feel anxious, what are people saying about me when I dance, I don’t have rhythm, etc”.. He would say over and over again “That’s NOT the point of dancing! The point is to let yourself get lost in the music and enjoy it!” So basically.. I started LOVING dancing shortly after we met and ever since we have found so much joy dancing together.

We knew we needed disco balls at our wedding. While they could be “trendy”, they are timeless, beautiful, and set the tone for having a good time. How could guests NOT dance or have fun with disco balls everywhere?

The color palette came from me taking pictures of my favorite colors in my home and adding them into The Pantone app until I found the perfect balance. I wanted as many colors as possible, primarily pinks.

We did not want to be kept in a box of a specific style so we landed on classy, eclectic, mid-century modern and it glued our disco theme perfectly together.
