White orchids, calla lilies, roses and baby’s breath decorated the outdoor venue for Connie & Jeff’s elegant white Hawaiian wedding.
How they met: Jeff and I met in college. We were both members of the Greek system and met during an introduction of my sorority and his fraternity in the beginning of the school year. We dated two and a half years in college and then went our separate ways. Fourteen years later we reconnected. I had always wanted to reach out to Jeff to tell him thank you for being an amazing gentlemen to me in college. At last I found him on Facebook and wrote a message describing how thankful I was for him laying a great foundation for me on how a boyfriend should treat you. I wasn’t expecting anything in return but I have to admit that I was ecstatic to hear his welcoming response back. During this response back we both realized that we were in Chicago for work. After meeting up for breakfast at the airport I saw him off to NY where he was living. With neither of us having been married before we were eager to settle down with each other and were engaged seven months later.
From the bride: We joke around that we chose a destination wedding over a holiday weekend in order to be able to hold our friends and family captive for more then just one night. The realty is that all two hundred plus guests flew from all over the globe to join us on their own free will. But we did want to make sure to spend more then just one night with everyone and therefore it did play a big factor in deciding to have a destination wedding. We chose not just Hawaii but North Shore Oahu because we love the feel of the small town in the lush green of the Island but yet still be able to accommodate 200 plus guests in nice places to stay close by. We didn’t know of many other places within the United States that you have a home town feel to welcome your guests, have it overlooking the tranquil ocean with such lush greenery. The reason within the United States because it wasn’t too far for most to fly. PLUS who doesn’t want an excuse to vacation in Hawaii.
