Katie and Dylan’s Lake Wedding

Katie and Dylan’s intimate lake wedding was not their initial plan, but just as beautiful. They celebrated in September 2020 in the backyard of Dylan’s family’s house in Charlotte, Michigan instead of at a venue like they had planned.

The bride and groom transformed Dylan’s childhood backyard into a magical scene for their lake wedding. The whole family came together to help hang lights, drapery, and haul in pumpkins galore! The bride’s dad built the archway for the ceremony and even made it extra tall. Dylan’s parents and brother hung all of the lights and created a beautiful, magical tree that seemed straight out of a fairytale.

From the photographer: “I think I said to Dylan several times how much I hope he cherishes his friends. Their love for Katie and Dylan as a unit, was overwhelming. They all had hilarious ideas, they all were enthusiastic, they all just showed an incredible about of love. Same goes for Dylan and Katie’s families as well.”

From the couple: “Our wedding theme was a mixture of our favorite time of year, fall, and one of our favorite hobbies, brewery hopping! Together they gave a pretty, rustic feel that was perfect for our intimate ceremony. Obviously the pandemic really threw a wrench in our original plans, but our small, backyard elopement turned out to be the perfect day.”

From the bride: “We had an amazing florist who really captured our fall theme. She created our bouquets, boutonnieres, and accents for our arch. We went for fun pops of color with purples and oranges, and we tied in our beer theme with some fresh hops.”
