Catie & Bill’s romantic barn wedding took place at the Barn at Liberty Farms in Hudson, New York.
From the photographer: Catie and Bill’s wedding was held at a new venue nestled in the Hudson Valley. The reception barn is actually a converted historic horse barn with a rustic, yet modern style. The owners even kept the horse stalls and gates in tact, which guests seemed to love! Catie wore a stunning embroidered wedding dress and lace shrug by Rebecca Schoneveld and we loved Bill’s stylish blue paisley jacket. Simple rustic table decor with glass jugs and twinkle lights really let the natural beauty of the reception barn shine. After their field ceremony, guests were invited back to the barn to enjoy treats like mussels and fries, charcuterie, and moscow mules! Most of the wedding guests, like Catie and Bill, were from Brooklyn, NY.
From the bride: Bill and my sister attended Amherst College together–we crossed paths due to mutual friends and my sister’s insistence that we would be fast friends. Turned out we were destined for friendship and more. We’re both big movie buffs, especially sci-fi, and most of our first dates consisted of watching or talking about films. Almost 6 years later he surprised (I mean, seriously surprised) me with his Grandmother’s engagement ring, on the pier at our favorite park in our neighborhood of Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Because it was unseasonably cold and rainy for May, I kept harping on the fact he insisted we go to the park in that weather. I feel so bad looking back at how difficult I was being since I know now he was incredibly nervous!
