This couple’s Carolina Grove wedding was genuine and amazing, just like them! They have been together since they were 14 years old. WOW!! Their families and friends are all so close which made their wedding day so special.
The bride’s mom and dad wrote letters to her to read before the ceremony, the bride and groom had a first touch, and everyone had so much fun during the reception. The day as a whole was magical!
From the bride: With LOTS of inspiration from Pinterest and many wedding videos on YouTube, we decided we wanted to decorate in a very simplistic elegant style for our wedding.
Our color palette included lots of neutrals – champagnes, golds, whites, and soft pinks. We thought it created such a classy vibe for our space!
For our ceremony, we really wanted to honor God because he is the foundation of our love. We actually had my cousin and one of our lifelong best friends marry us. He went to seminary school and it was his very first wedding ceremony, so it felt so personal and special for all of us.
We got married at the Carolina Grove wedding venue in Hillsborough, NC. The ceremony sight was outside in front of a gorgeous backdrop of trees (seriously it looked like we were in the forest, kind of like Twilight!)
We decorated our arbor with gorgeous drapery and neutral white, champagne, and soft pink blooms. We lined the aisle with stunning tall pampas grass arrangements.
For the reception, our venue space was like a blank canvas that we could really personalize! We brought in champagne silk tablecloths with lots of greenery and gold candlesticks. We strung white lights along the balcony and lit up the room with tons of candles.
Advice for other brides: No matter how much planning you put into your wedding day, there will inevitably be something that doesn’t go perfectly– and that’s okay!
Despite any obstacles you might face, take a breath and realize the true purpose of this day! You get to marry your best friend!
So, shake it off, and don’t let anything get in the way of your happiness and excitement. You get to celebrate the best day of your life with all of the friends and family who have loved and supported you along the way!
