Cara & Luke’s rustic maroon wedding took place at a church then moved to Overtime Event Center in Mitchell, South Dakota.
From the photographer: Cara and Luke are in law and medical school respectively, so not only are they a good looking couple, they’re a well-educated one. These two have been together for years, much of which has been a long distance relationship. Their wedding was the best celebration of them finally getting to be together forever.
From the bride: My wedding was a more casual occasion! I wanted a fall wedding, but because my husband and I are medical and law students, we had to schedule our wedding for the summer. That being said, I wanted to stick with the color pattern and theme that would have accompanied a fall wedding. I wanted burgundy colors that reminded me of fall. My bridesmaids’ dresses were burgundy, but to make it more relevant for summer we did short dresses and light grey suits. As for the theme, we wanted to keep it casual and rustic, so we had loads of baby’s breath, burlap, exposed wood, and simple calligraphy. We didn’t want a formal occasion. The most important part of our day to us was our ceremony, and we wanted the church to be beautiful. Everything else just kind of fell into place!
