Brenna and Mitch’s Beach Bash

Brenna and Mitch’s beach bash was full of love and color. The couple met during their freshman year of college in 2010. Brenna is a lover of the ocean and has always dreamed of a barefoot ceremony on the beach. After touring Hotel Zamora, she and Mitch knew right away this would be the perfect spot for the reception. They planned the ceremony down the road at their favorite beach, Pass-A-Grille Beach in St. Pete Beach, FL. It was voted one of the most beautiful beaches in the country.

Brenna and Mitch incorporated several elements in their beach bash to achieve their desired tropical, boho theme. Instead of shoes, she wore two shell anklets. Guests were invited to shed their shoes and go barefoot on the beach (note the cute sign). Birds of paradise and hot pink flowers, a special palm printed ring box, and pineapples and palm fronds as centerpieces at the reception all established the tropical theme.

The couple exchanged vows on the beach under a breezy bamboo arbor set against the muted tones of the sand, sea, and sky. Instead of doing a typical “sand ceremony” with different colors of sand, in the middle of the ceremony they each bent down and grabbed a handful of sand to place in a small container. That way they will always have these special grains of sand from a most special spot. Brenna and Mitch wanted the day to be a fun celebration with their family and friends. Much of the joy of the day derived from the many ways that their guests contributed to and participated in the event. At the end of the ceremony, every guest went to the water’s edge and threw a stone for “good luck” along with a blessing performed by the officiant.
