Boho Vow Renewal

From the photographer: Daniel and Salem Gideon have been happily married for over 4 years now and celebrated their marriage with a boho vow renewal.

They were wed back in 2017 at Bear Valley Country Club. 2020 was a tough year for all of us, so these two lovebirds decided to host a small ceremony at their home, celebrate their love, and reaffirm the promises they made to each other back in 2017.

What is a vow renewal? A wedding vow renewal ceremony (or wedding vow reaffirmation ceremony) is a ceremony in which a married couple renews or reaffirms their marriage vows.

Originally, they planned on having the ceremony in the Lancaster desert. Due to high winds, however, we were forced to have an intimate ceremony at the Gideon’s home. It was a blessing in disguise because I am obsessed with how these turned out!

Although the two of them had a great time at their wedding, during my consultations Salem expressed how she wished their wedding photography had been executed differently. She envisioned more editorial/fine art portraits weaved into the gallery.

When I caught wind of this, I knew I had to do everything in my power to gift this couple the photography of their dreams.

The ceremony lasted about 10 minutes. Daniel and Salem each read aloud their original vows, along with new promises to each other.

Proceeding the boho vow renewal, everyone made their way into the Gideon dining room for a small lunch.

The 70s architecture combined with the Edison-bulb chandelier and decor rentals provided by Crowned Rentals elevated the reception and made for a cozy dining experience.

Family and friends each took turns expressing their love and admiration for the lovely couple.

If you are considering a renewal, don’t forget to have a look at rentals! Vacation rentals are also a great option when choosing your wedding venue, with these stunning homes where you can tie the knot proving exactly why.
