Barn at Trinity Peak Wedding: In eight years, change is inevitable. When Sam and Lian became friends in high school, they admired each other’s sense of humor.
That friendship grew when Sam asked Lian to dance at their sophomore year homecoming, and in the time since, they’ve helped each other grow into strong, compassionate, partners and friends to one another.
Spontaneous moments together have been a constant in their relationship, so when Sam and Lian went on a trip to Minneapolis, there was no certain. giveaway that something was going on – except for when Lian gave Sam a hug and noticed how hard his heart was beating.
Through the nerves, Sam got down on one knee and was so nervous that he forgot to ask Lian to marry him, but the stunning marquise ring was giveaway enough.
The couple knew they wanted their day to include the family and friends that had been there to support their relationship from the beginning – much of their wedding party has been friends with the couple since high school.
While Lian carried a bouquet of greenery with burgundy and white touches, her bridesmaids had mixed bouquets. The two closest to her had arrangements including white florals while the remaining bridesmaids carried bunches of greenery. Sam’s boutonniere was a succulent and feathery and macrame touches added to a romantic, boho feel.
Guests were thanked with a plantable heart carrying wildflower seeds.
Lian and Sam’s most memorable moment on their wedding day was a special first look: Lian’s bridesmaids walked her to the meeting spot where the wedding party and both of their parents cheered them on.
After sweetly written vows as the party began, Lian and Sam shared a first dance to the same song they first danced to during their sophomore year homecoming – only now, as husband and wife.
