Truly a personalized affair, Alyssa & David’s modern geometric wedding had DIY and personal touches everywhere you look.
From the photographer: David and Alyssa have been together for 8 years and engaged for 2 of those 8 so all of their loved ones have been waiting a good while for this wedding (also known as the #thekearneylaunchparty). The couple didn’t take the anticipation lightly. The two most important things to them were their guests and for every detail to be personal. When they found their venue, the Millwick in Downtown LA, it was the perfect fit. Unique, hip, spacious yet cozy, and even with a warehouse-vibe it was still so romantic.
Once that was set, they spent two years on the details- designing their website, wedding logo, and invitations from scratch, building copper pipe structures that sat on top of the tables and framed them during the ceremony, collecting photographs of their guests (aka Facebook-stalking) to use as their seat-assignment cards, die-cutting vinyl letters to make each sign in the building, sewing pillows for their guests to sit on, making celebration wands for their guests to wave as they came down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs.- if it wasn’t a piece of furniture or clothing David and Alyssa made it. Alyssa had two dresses- she loved the idea of David seeing her for the first time in her wedding dress as she came down the aisle but being a wedding photographer herself, she understood the convenience of doing a first-look so to compromise she wore an emerald dress (their wedding color) for their first look.
