Sleek elegant touches to an urban venue completed Kristin & John’s modern San Francisco wedding.
From the bride: We looked for places where we could have both the ceremony and reception in one place so our guests would not have to travel between locations. The Julia Morgan Ballroom has such a distinct look and aesthetic that once we chose it as our venue the rest of my wedding choices were guided by what went well with the ballroom. Our theme was Romantic Glamour. The color palate I chose was light gray, ivory, and rose gold. I love rose gold, but at times it was a difficult color to incorporate because it’s so specific. We used blushes and golds when we couldn’t exactly use rose gold. However, one of my favorite ways that I was able to incorporate rose gold was through the jewelry I gave my bridesmaids as gifts to wear.
From the photographer: The wedding took place within the Merchants Exchange Building (which, by the way, was designed by famous Chicagoan architect, Daniel Burnham). The Atrium Lobby was designed by Julia Morgan as well as the Ballroom, which is named after her. The Lobby, which was already beautifully detailed, was given an accent of softness by the elegant floral work of An Added Touch florist, while the brilliant centerpieces in the Julia Morgan Ballroom complemented the surrounding space perfectly, adding a splash of color.
