The setting of De’Ann & Jahret’s castle wedding was quite unique: the castle was custom-built for their big day. The bride’s parent eventually turned it into a wedding venue for other couples to use.
The castle wedding ceremony was set in the entrance area, where the door was adorned with a garland arch. Guests enjoyed the vows at the front of the castle before making their way to the reception. Instead of traditionl small bouquets of flowers, aisle markers were springs of rosemary. Bridesmaids were clad in yellow cocktail dresses, standing out against the white walls of the castle. As guests found their seat for the reception, they received a glass coke bottle tied with a mini-bottle of whiskey and their seating assignment. Reception tables were kept simple with white linens and candle centerpieces.
From the photographer: When De’Ann and Jahret approached me to photograph their wedding they let me know that De’Ann’s father, who was a second generation contractor, was currently building her a castle for her wedding. Clearly I was excited to photograph this unique wedding. They finished building it and laying sod the week before the ceremony. The inaugural event was the marriage and celebration of De’Ann and Jahret.
