From the bride, Alex on her Ryland Inn wedding: “Scott and I got engaged in the Outer Banks, North Carolina. The Outer Banks has always been a special place for my family, having vacationed and spent weeks there in the summer growing up.
My parents had planned a vacation there and Scott and I, and my 2 sisters and their boyfriends were all joining. I was honestly so excited about the trip and for my family to all be together.
At that time, Scott and I had talked about getting engaged but seemed like something that wouldn’t be anything in the immediate future.
We arrived at the beachfront rental home and immediately all went to the beach! We hung out until early evening in our beach chairs laughing and catching up.
My family had decided to go back up to the house and shortly after Scott asked if I wanted to go “feel the water” because we hadn’t touched the ocean yet. Of course, I was uncooperative and said I didn’t want to go & get my feet sandy!
But we went, and Scott proposed to me down by the water!
My family rushed down from the house right after with bottles of champagne in hand and we celebrated all night! They had decorated the rental home with all sorts of engagement decorations, floats in the pool, and lots of food and drinks. It was a night I will never forget!
I really wanted a classic and romantic wedding day! My vision had always incorporated lots of romantic colors and timeless decor incorporating light pinks, white and lots of greenery.
The Ryland Inn is so naturally beautiful and elegant I felt like it would definitely help my dream come to life.”
