Oakland Farm Wedding

From the photographer: CJ and Becca were so sweet and their wedding day was perfect. With all that 2020 brought, they were so ready for their 2021 Oakland Farm wedding.

The forecast called for lots of rain…but thankfully it held off under after the ceremony and portraits. We met at the beautiful Oakland Farms where the girls were all nestled in the house on the property, very excited for this day.

CJ and Becca decided not to have a first look, but wanted to have a special moment prior to the ceremony. They chose to read their vows in private. I love this! I felt so honored to listen in on this sweet and tender moment. This was one of many wonderful moments to their wedding day.

There was the bridesmaids’ first look and the daddy-daughter first look, the beautiful ceremony, and hearing stories of how the two of them have formed a life together…all of this makes my job such a joy.

From the bride: CJ and I did not have a specific theme in mind when planning our big day. Our inspiration came from our love of the beach. We wanted something simple yet chic. Our color palette consisted of greens, blues, and gold accents.

We chose to keep the ceremony and reception decoration simple. For our ceremony, we used an arbor decorated with greenery, white and blue flowers, and palm leaves.

The aisle was decorated with a simple palm leaf tied to chairs with ribbon. Ferns were placed at the end of the aisle on wine barrels.

Our guest tables consisted of flowers flowing from a geometric centerpiece along with gold accent candles.

One of the most special moments of our wedding day was reading our vows privately to each other without seeing each other. We chose not to do a first look, but to exchange personal vows to each other. One of the best feelings on the day of our wedding was finally walking down the aisle as husband and wife.

Always make time for each other and never stop dating. Make sure to communicate your wants and needs with each other and ensure your partner understands your love language.
