Shane and Scott had a beautiful vintage beach-inspired wedding.
Would you believe this was their second choice? From the photographer: “Live in North Carolina and you will become intimately familiar with the unpredictability of the weather.
That was the case for Scott and Shane. Together with Hobnob Occasions, these grooms were planning a weekend of festivities at Topsail Beach, North Carolina.
A weekend-long celebration with family and friends coming from all over the United States.
But Hurricane Dorian foiled their plans. With mandatory evacuations and closed beaches, they were forced to take a step back and create a plan b within 48 hours.”
The University Club in Durham was happy to accommodate them on their wedding day. Located in the 17th-floor penthouse of University Tower, each space in the University Club offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city of Durham, Chapel Hill, and Duke University. The grooms were able to incorporate their beach theme, making their celebration the ultimate vintage beach-inspired wedding. The couple wore matching charcoal linen pants, tan vests, and open-collared dress shirts. They paired their outfits with sports sandals branded with their alma maters. They wanted to keep things casual and easy-going. They exchanged vows overlooking the beautiful city of Durham as all of their loved ones looked on. While the grooms and their families moved outside for pictures, the guests were treated to a wide selection of beer from local breweries. Champagne popsicles, perfect for the original beach wedding, rounded out the cocktail hour!
