Tips For The Perfect Marriage Proposal

When you’re truly, madly, deeply in love with somebody else, it is understandable that your thoughts will turn to marriage. Having a lifetime together will be something that you will be desperate for, so you will need to pluck up the courage to ask your loved one to marry you at some point.

This can be a nerve-wracking moment. What if they say no?

Of course, assuming that they love you in return, the chances of them saying ‘no’ are slim. And in some respects, it doesn’t matter if your marriage proposal is less than perfect (despite our title) as if they do love you, then you can expect a positive answer anyway.

But hey, the more effort you can put in, the more memorable it will be, and the higher the chances of your marriage proposal being successful. So, with that in mind, here are some tips we hope you find useful if you are currently having wedding thoughts

#1: Make sure you have an engagement ring

It’s the act of passing over a ring that is important, as you are asking the other person to make a commitment. So, ensure you aren’t empty-handed when you’re asking the person to marry you. The ring doesn’t have to be expensive but do try to make it personal to your beloved. You might want to consider an engagement ring with unique designs that suit their personality, for example, or something with a precious stone that they adore. If you’re unsure about the kind of ring they might like, speak to their friends or family members for advice, but be sure to remind them to keep your impending marriage proposal a secret.

#2: Choose a memorable location

You might want to choose a place that has deep significance for both of you. It could be the place where you shared your first kiss, for example, or the place you first met. On the other hand, you might want to ask them to marry you in a romantic setting. While there will be places in your locale that might tick all the right boxes for a proposal, check out these romantic places if you want to propose while on a holiday.

#3: Find the right moment

Timing is everything, so ask the person to marry you when the moment feels right. This won’t be when they’re annoyed at you about something, and it won’t be when their mind is busy with thoughts of other things. There is no perfect science here, but wait until you are both in a loving mood before you get down on one knee (if that’s what you want to do), and then pop the question.

#4: Make the proposal unique

We have just suggested getting down on one knee, but you can be creative in the way you propose. You could sing the proposal, or ask the person to marry you through romantic poetry. You could say it with flowers by spelling out the proposal with petals, or you could present her with a cake with the words of your proposal emblazoned on the top. There are some other unique marriage proposal ideas here, so take your pick or try to come up with something that is uniquely you.
