When you pictured your dream wedding, you might have imagined something quite different than pouring rain. Perhaps it was in the middle of a green lawn when the sun is shining and the birds are singing – but, unfortunately, we can’t always get it our way.

If your wedding day is filled with grey clouds and pouring rain, it’s a good idea to have a backup plan handy so that you’re able to keep your cool and stay happy. It is, after all, your wedding day and nothing should be able to spoil it.
Rainy days can even be quite beautiful as long as you’re able to stay dry and warm. Here is a handful of excellent ways to make the most out of your rainy wedding day so that you can look forward to a night of celebrations you’ll remember forever.
First: Keep it dry inside
No matter how you pictured it to be, one thing is for certain when it’s going to rain: you need a roof over your head. Get your hands on a party tent as soon as possible, in case your reception was supposed to be under the open sky, or have a look at these small function rooms so that you’re prepared.
The next thing you need to think about is how you’re going to keep your guests and the floor inside as dry as possible. Undoubtedly, some of them are going to head out in the rain to nurse a bad habit or just visit the restroom.
Keep them warm and dry by putting an umbrella stand by the entrance, for example, and create some sort of walkway to the toilet so that their boots won’t be filled with mud when they walk back in.
Provide a lot of blankets and warm drinks for your guests when they are relaxing inside or underneath the party tent, and you can rest assured that they will be enjoying themselves regardless of the weather conditions.
Next: Think about the photos
Now that you’ve cared for the needs of your guests the best you can, it’s time to think about capturing those beautiful memories. Your wedding photographer might be the only person who is thrilled about the rain, by the way, so make sure that you take advantage of this when the light is at its best.
Equip your bridesmaids with flashy umbrellas, for example, and make it the theme of the wedding pictures – at least it will keep them dry while those pictures are being taken. There is, in fact, so many great ways to create a theme around the weather so try not to let it bring you down.
The pictures will look amazing, in any way, and you will definitely look even more gorgeous when you have such perfect light.
